Recently, we witnessed extraordinary generosity and kindness, expressed by numerous individuals, Associations and companies who gathered in order to help a young Vjesnik's journalist, Ana Rukavina Erceg.
The campaign 'Salvation for Ana' organized by kindness of Ana's colleagues and friends raised more than 1,2 million kunas, which will become the basis for Ana Rukavina Foundation according to Ana's wishes. The Foundation will in long term work on raising funds to develop voluntary bone marrow donor Registry, to establish a cord blood bank and to inform citizens. Foundation founders are Ana Rukavina Erceg's family, Croatian leukemia and lymphoma Association and Vjesnik. In order to present the whole project to the public and thank to all for former support, we will mark the start of Ana Rukavina Foundation campaign with big humanitarian concert organized by Ana's friends under Foundation's sponsorship.
The concert will take place on December 21st on Ban Jelačić square in Zagreb at 8 p.m.
The organization and production of the concert is 0 kuna. ALL those involved in the project donated their services to the Foundation and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
Vanna, Ivana Banfić, Lana Jurčević, Massimo, Aki Rahimovski, Hari Rončević, E.T., Dino Dvornik, Elemental, Raspashow and other guests will perform at the concert.
Program hosts will be Davor Dretar-Drele and Sonja Šarunić.
You will hear the Band-Aid song 'I WANT LIFE!' by Maja Rogić, who also donated her work to the Foundation.
At the same time, we will open many channels of raising funds in order to allow every good person in Croatia to give his share „for life“ of all citizens of Republic of Croatia.
Ana initiated this humanitarian campaign.
With help of all of us, Ana Rukavina Foundation continues with the campaign for the benefit of all citizens of the Republic of Croatia.

In the period from July 16th to August 16th 2010, 1000 new potential donor samples of bone marrow and stem cells have been tissue typed using the DNK method for HLA (HLA - Human leukocyte antigen) A, B and DRB1! more »
700 new donor blood samples have been tissue typed. The Registry now lists 15,875 HLA tissue typed donors which are able to be searched for genetic compatibility and tissue tolerance between the donor and the patient who is awaiting bone marrow transplantation for treatment. more »
Among the winners of the Top Scholarships, the Foundation’s volunteer, Neven Mihić, received special recognition: the “Top Scholarship Ivo Pukanić” award, bestowed by the collegium of the editorial board of Nacional in honor of the late Ivo Pukanić, who was one of authors behind the idea for the entire project. more »
