5000th donor is from Plaški!

Five thousandth potential bone marrow donor was entered to the Registry today in Ogulin.

A personal family experience when Mr. Jure Matovina, policeman from Plaški, was waiting to find out if one of his family members has fallen ill from Leukemia brought him to donation event in Ogulin. He wanted to give a personal example and show to his colleagues how important this is. Thank you, Jure! We are sure that your example will be followed by many colleagues and other people all over Croatia. We are going with certainty closer to 10.000th donor!

Number of HLA tissue typed blood samples increased by 700 new samples 19/07/2010

700 new donor blood samples have been tissue typed. The Registry now lists 15,875 HLA tissue typed donors which are able to be searched for genetic compatibility and tissue tolerance between the donor and the patient who is awaiting bone marrow transplantation for treatment. more »
